Commercial Insurance IT supports the Commercial Insurance business group which is the fourth largest commercial insurer in the US. Summary:
Under limited supervision, participates as technical expert in analysis, design, coding, testing, and debugging new software or significant enhancements to existing software to achieve desired results and documents appropriate aspects of those deliverables. Develops and enhances complex systems and/or software from general requirements and specifications. Analyzes complex technical system problems. Leads projects or subprojects and coordinates rollouts of moderate scope. May provide coaching and guidance to other team members.

Performs complex source code development.
Assists in complex unit test case development.
Develops complex test scripts.
Assists in the development of production support documentation.
Provides functional/system integration testing support.
Performs Quality Assurance coding and design review.
Conducts complex impact analysis.
Develops complex component design.
Provides complex system / application architecture.
Contributes complex technical alternatives.
Participates in the development of Build and Deployment guide and script.
Participates in the development of guidelines and standards.
Technical Skillset:
Experience designing and building web-based UIs
CSS, HTML, JavaScript/jQuery, AJAX, JSON
Web Services, SOAP, REST
Java, JSP, Spring
JSF/PrimeFaces preferred but not required
Database knowledge/skills preferred
Some graphic design skills preferred but not required
Qualifications:
Bachelor''s or Master''s degree in technical or business discipline or equivalent experience. Generally 5 years of professional experience. Extensive knowledge of IT concepts, strategies and methodologies. Extensive knowledge of a business function(s) and of business operations. Extensive knowledge of design and development tools. Extensive knowledge of architectures and technical standards. Extensive knowledge of layered systems architectures and layered solutions and designs; extensive understanding of shared software concepts. Proficient in multiple programming languages and tools. Proficient in new and emerging technologies. Negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills. Strong oral and written communication skills; presentation skills, and knowledge of underwriting and/or risk control domains helpful.
