To manage the daily activities of internal Premium Audit department support and technician personnel responsible for conducting internal mail audits and preparation of audit bills to facilitate the timely and cost effective determination and collection of proper premium charges on auditable commercial accounts.
Responsibilities:

Manages the inside Premium Audit function for an assigned company to ensure quality customer service. Manages the mail audit and rating activity of support and technician personnel for purposes of auditing smaller commercial lines policies and to process the audit activity of field and telephone auditors. Reviews completed work to ensure the accurate determination of premiums in accordance with the policy provisions and insured risks, and oversees preparation of billing or refunds based on premium determination.

Directs, coaches, and supports staff in resolving disputed accounts. Responds to calls from agents and insureds with regard to billing, coverages, and the sources of audit information.

Assures that audit bills for automated and non-automated policies are produced, are accurate, and are mailed promptly to assure timely collection of premiums due. Non-automated policies are rated before amount due can be determined.

Supervises the processing of Worker''s Compensation dividends to assure that money due back to the insured is paid accurately and in a timely manner to foster positive customer relations.

Oversees the screening of all commercial policies at expiration and cancellation so that the most appropriate of on-site audit, mail audit or telephone audit is decided and assures that all are assigned.

Works to continually improve the auditing and billing process to improve accuracy, timeliness, and general efficiencies.

Helps to ensure that systems supports are appropriate and current. Supervises system testing, documentation, and implementation of new automated systems. Specifies systems needs, recommends systems enhancements, and assists in implementing the changes and adapting department procedures to improve efficiency and productivity.

Participates in short-term annual budget process, communicates objectives to the department, sets action plans and monitors results. Prepares monthly management reports.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

BA/BS or Associates degree in Management.

4-5 years of supervisory/management and/or Premium Audit experience.

Working knowledge of the insurance industry.

Strong knowledge of Commercial rating.

PC skills.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
