Liberty Mutual Personal Insurance IT is actively searching for an Architect to join the Information Management team. As an Architect you will provide technical management and systems solutions to large, strategic, complex system development projects involving multiple platforms, distributed processing, multi-tier client server and web-based applications. An Architect may be responsible for the technical management of entire application portfolios within a market. Personal Insurance IT supports t he Personal Insurance business unit which ranks #6 in the US in personal auto and property premium. We are a market leader in distribution capabilities, offering customers' unrivaled access to our products and services through multiple channels.
Job Responsibilities :
Skilled at leveraging new and existing software and technology.
May lead teams, may have overall leadership responsibility for project architecture and design.
Provides consultation to VP of Information Management, business partners and peer groups regarding long and short-range business requirements. Recommends innovations, which anticipate the future direction of the business, its drivers and technology strategy.
Reviews and ensures major architectural designs are consistent, maintainable, flexible and cost effective.
Works with application teams to identify functional requirements that drive security technology that enables business functionality.
Develop security architectural strategies and direction which all the business to deliver new customer engagement models.
Skilled at leveraging new and existing software and technology.
Participate with application and infrastructure design architects to provide security overlays for development and deployment patterns.
Develops strategies and architectures which support advanced security topics such as Vulnerability Lifecycle Management, Identity Management, Intrusion Detection, Authentication, Authorization and Auditing.
Consult with application development and infrastructure development project teams to fit systems to architecture, and identify when it is necessary to modify the technical architecture to accommodate project needs.
Responsible for prototyping complex, cross platform business solutions to validate newer technologies. Recommends emerging technological solutions to increase market share and reduce operational costs.
Analyzes the technology industry and market trends to determine potential impact on the business.
Influences technology direction and/or adjustments to incorporate these into business plans.
Influences the selection of hardware and software product standards and the design of standard configurations; makes significant contributions to market-centric technology roadmaps and architectural principles.
Actively participates in selected enterprise projects working closely with architects from other markets as well as from Hosting Services and Enterprise Architecture.
Develops and manages effective working relationships with other departments, groups, peers, and subordinates.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in technical discipline; Master's preferred.
10 years of architecture experience in applications development in a complex, multi-platform distributed environment.
Expert in business intelligence and data warehousing development techniques highly preferred.
In-depth understanding of Informatica PoweCenter,, Teradata, Hadoop and MicroStrategy
Extensive experience in layered solutions and designs, diverse technical configurations, across multiple technologies and processing environments.
In-depth understanding of Infrastructure Architecture - Storage / Network / Servers plus Cloud Technologies.
In-depth knowledge in software engineering languages and tools; proficient in new and emerging technologies.
Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.
Extensive knowledge of all components of technical architecture.
In-depth understanding of business operations, objectives and strategies including but not limited to, insurance industry, financial services, global business and technology trends.
