POSITION SUMMARY The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for performing housekeeping and laundry functions in order to create a safe, secure, and inviting environment for residents, families and team members while meeting and exceeding Spring Village quality service standards.

As a result, this position's area of responsibility may differ among the various brands and states.
Despite the differences in responsibilities between the brands and states, the following are a core set of duties common to this position.
Essential Duties:
Housekeeping Responsible for performing general housekeeping duties in resident suites, public areas and support areas as assigned while meeting or exceeding Spring Village's quality standards Performs cleaning duties according to schedule in assigned areas such as resident suites, bathrooms, common areas and offices Sweeps, dusts, dust mops, and wet mops all flooring; spot cleans and vacuums floors, rugs, carpets and runners Cleans, sanitizes and polishes both lavatory, shower and sink fixtures Dusts, washes, sponge mops, sanitizes and hand shampoos furniture; dusts desk and floor lamps, cleans and polishes glass surfaces, woodwork, walls and windowsills Before entering, always knock on resident's doors and respect their privacy during the cleaning process Before entering, always knock on public restroom doors and wait for a response before beginning the cleaning process Maintains equipment and supplies needed to perform work in a clean and orderly condition Responsible for transporting supplies, to include clean and soiled linen, to the appropriate storage and collection areas Responsible for trash collection and removal and for maintaining trash receptacles and collection areas in a clean, sanitary manner Essential Duties:
Safety and Risk Management Ensures cleaning chemicals are kept stored and locked when not in use Ensures any cords, carts, equipment and other hazards are kept out of the way at all times, not blocking exits and in compliance with fire codes Partners with community team to ensure community is in compliance with OSHA requirements and promotion of Risk Management programs and policies; adherence to safety rules and regulations Practices safety procedures at all times including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) and Lockout Tagout procedures Maintains equipment and supplies to avoid waste, damage to areas and equipment and to prevent accidents Complies with all infection control techniques, placement of bio-hazard containers and removal techniques, procedures and policies Maintains communication with Supervisor regarding inventory of products and services per Spring Village procurement procedures and service standards Essential Duties:
Environmental Adaptability Team members may be exposed to blood and or body fluids with potential exposure to hazardous materials and infectious diseases Working in an environment that may have possible exposure to unpleasant odors; possible expose to chemicals as identified in the MSDS manual and continuous exposure to residents who may be ill, confused and having unpleasant days Job Type:
