Liberty Mutual Personal Insurance IT is actively searching for a Manager, Quality Assurance related to the Datawarehouse. Personal Insurance IT supports the Personal Insurance business unit which ranks #6 in personal auto and property premium. We are a market leader in distribution capabilities, offering customers unrivaled access to our products and services through multiple channels.In this position, you will lead the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) QA team where you will manage and develop a team of test engineers and quality assurance analysts who ensure the integrity and consistency of the data warehouse.
The Information Management team develops within a heterogeneous database environment and technical stack that includes class-leading tools including Informatica, Golden Gate, Teradata, Hadoop and MicroStrategy. In this position, you will be a key member of the technical management team, ensuring the delivery and functionality of information applications utilized across Personal Insurance IT. The selected candidate will be responsible for adherence to best practices, proprietary standards and to govern technical implementation throughout all stages of the quality lifecycle. This position requires a creative and technical mindset, innovative leadership, excellent communication skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
Responsibilities:
Manage a team of approximately 10-15 employees and 25 on and offshore contract QA resources for a large portfolio of data warehousing and other Information Management-related projects. Employees & contractors are located in various sites in the US or offshore.
Develop and maintain QA toolset, increase automation of script generation, execution, and workflow.
Work with Portfolio Managers, Project Managers, and technical staff to ensure portfolio Service Level Agreements are met, problems are resolved in a timely manner, application enhancements are completed.
Continuously identify process and technical improvement opportunities and implement solutions to enhance overall operational efficiency.
Develop and communicate unit vision, strategies, critical success factors and plans.
Participate in the development of business and/or IT vision, critical success factors and operating plans for portfolio.
Participate in strategic efforts to evaluate, select and implement new technologies to enhance the portfolio.
Hire, coach, and develop team members in alignment with portfolio needs and career goals.
Define individual performance objectives and development plans and ensure alignment with portfolio and organizational objectives. Appraise and evaluate team and individual performance and make compensation recommendations.
Initiate and foster collaborative partnerships with IT and Business managers and vendors; develop relationships that support increasing efficiency and effectiveness.
Contribute to establishment of financial plan for the portfolio and manage to plan.
Qualifications:
Experience leading a data warehouse and/or business intelligence organization
Bachelors or Master's Degree in technical or business discipline or related experience, a minimum of 8 years related experience with 3 years in a leadership role.
Thorough knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, and methodologies; thorough knowledge of the development and production support processes;
Thorough knowledge of quality process creation, implementation , and testing tools; thorough knowledge of different types of testing, focus areas, and testing implementations;
Thorough knowledge of project management tools and processes and IT standards and guidelines; strong negotiation and communication skills.
You are required to complete an assessment as part of the application process for this position. Depending on the job, the assessment may take between 30 and 60 minutes and it must be completed to be considered for the position.
