Liberty Mutual Personal Insurance IT is actively searching for a Sr. Software Developer.Personal Insurance IT supports the Personal Insurance business unit which ranks #6 in personal auto and property premium. We are a market leader in distribution capabilities, offering customers unrivaled access to our products and services through multiple channels. In this position, you will be a part of the Individual Life IT team.
This Sr. Senior Software developer position will develop and enhance application software supporting the Personal Insurance Individual Life portfolio aligned to the LifeWorks program. The Lifeworks program is a multi-year, multi-faceted portfolio of applications. As primarily a Java/J2EE Developer your role will focus on developing and supporting several strategic New Business, Policy Administration and Compensation applications. Candidate should have knowledge of IT concepts, strategies and methodologies. Responsibilities include reviewing requirements with customers, designing and coding to specifications, thorough testing and refactoring defective code.
Responsibilities:
Design, development, and maintenance of internal and external facing systems to support the Liberty Life Assurance Company of Boston.
Work with business analysts and developers to create technical solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
Troubleshoot code defects and deploy timely fixes.
Contribute to code and design reviews.
Work with technical staff to understand problems with software and resolve them.
Create and maintain technical documentation.
Consult on technical issues.
Provide oversight to junior development staff.
Investigate components of new tools and techniques.
Contribute to the development of project plans.
Qualifications:
5-7 years of experience in WPS, Process server application development.
5-7 years of experience of web development utilizing Java, SQL, persistence frameworks, XML, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, JSON/RESTful services and Dojo preferred
Experience with WAS, UDB, DB2, & Sybase beneficial
Knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, methodologies, architectures and technical standards.
Knowledge of layered systems architectures and layered solutions and designs; understanding of shared software concepts.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to coordinate with internal and external groups.
Negotiation, facilitation, and consensus building skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
B.A. or B.S. in computer science or equivalent academic and work experience.
