Liberty Mutual Commercial Insurance IT / Distribution & Marketing Systems are actively searching for a Principal Software Developer . Commercial Insurance IT supports the Commercial Insurance business group which is the fourth largest commercial insurer in the US. Commercial Insurance IT leverages strengths to continue to simplify operations and invest in new technologies that provide competitive advantage. In this position, you will be responsible for the following:
Under limited supervision, participates as technical expert in analysis, design, coding, testing, and debugging new software or significant enhancements to existing software to achieve desired results and documents appropriate aspects of those deliverables. Develops and enhances complex systems and/or software from general requirements and specifications. Analyzes complex technical system problems. Leads projects or subprojects and coordinates rollouts of moderate scope. May provide coaching and guidance to other team members.
Responsibilities:
Performs complex source code development.
Assists in complex unit test case development.
Develops complex test scripts.
Assists in the development of production support documentation.
Provides functional/system integration testing support.
Performs Quality Assurance coding and design review.
May be asked to provide on-call support.
Contributes to the development of project plans, and assigns and monitors tasks of lower level Software Developers
Investigates components of new tools and techniques.
Conducts complex impact analysis.
Develops complex component design.
Provides complex system / application architecture.
Contributes complex technical alternatives.
Participates in the development of Build and Deployment guide and script.
Participates in the development of guidelines and standards
Qualifications:
Bachelor''s or Master''s degree in technical or business discipline or equivalent experience, technical degree preferred. Generally 8 years of professional experience. Thorough knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, methodologies. Thorough knowledge of diverse technologies and new technical architecture principles and concepts. Thorough understanding of layered systems architectures and layered solutions and designs. Highly proficient in software engineering languages and tools; ability to develop on multiple platforms. Thorough knowledge of a business function(s) and I/T industry business issues; extensive knowledge of business operations, strategies and objectives. Strong negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills. Strong oral and written communication skills; presentation skills.
